my h.g. wells moment
I think one of the greatest, and strangest, things that can happen to you as a teacher is when you come across students who remind you of yourself… when you were in high school, and didn’t know who you were. When they reveal to you that they, in fact, don’t know who they are, and can’t wait to find out who they will become, it’s like you’ve stepped into a real time machine, and you actually have the opportunity to change the course of someone else’s history.
